Mid-Year Market Update: Three key company attributes in this climate

In part three of our Mid-Year Market Update video series, we hear from Portfolio Manager Michael Goltsman, based in our Sydney office.

“At Pie, we generally look for two sorts of investments,” Goltsman says.

“One, structural growth companies that have a tailwind and a competitive advantage, and two, stocks that are mispriced where we have some sort of divergent view.”

In this video, Goltsman talks about what company attributes we look for in the current economic environment.

Given the changing landscape, Pie considers these three factors when reviewing stocks in our portfolios, Goltsman says.

1/ How defensive are the earnings for tougher economic conditions?

2/ What is the pricing power to pass on inflation?

3/ What is their balance sheet strength?

So, what are some examples of these companies in our Australasian portfolios?

If you have any questions or want to talk anything over, we encourage you to get in touch. Please contact your Relationship Manager or the team at [email protected] or 09 4861701.
