Mike Taylor Executive Director, Founder & CEO

Mike is the Founder and CEO of Pie Funds, and Chairman of the Investment Committee. He is also the Portfolio Manager of the Chairman’s Fund, Global Growth 2 Fund and Conservative Fund. Mike is also Portfolio Manager for the JUNO KiwiSaver Conservative Fund and JUNO KiwiSaver Balanced Fund.
Prior to starting Pie Funds in 2007, he worked in a variety of roles in the financial industry both here and in the UK, including as a banking analyst for HBOS and an equities dealer for ABN Amro. His early career provided him with a diverse range of experience across the finance sector which Mike has used successfully in his roles as CEO and portfolio manager. Mike has a Bachelor of Business Studies in Finance from Massey University and a NZX Diploma. Having purchased his first shares at the age of eighteen, Mike went on to grow his own personal portfolio and then that of friends and family, before starting Pie Funds roughly ten years later.
Mike is a substantial shareholder of Pie Funds.
James Paterson Head of Wealth and Client Services

James has overall responsibility for client relationships, and is licensed to provide financial advice and recommendations to clients.
Prior to joining Pie in 2018, James was Head of Advice at Fisher Funds Management in Auckland.
James holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Unitec in Auckland, a Graduate Diploma in Financial Services from Kaplan in Australia, and is an Authorised Financial Adviser.
James is a shareholder of Pie Funds.
Simon Hepple Wealth Adviser

Simon is licensed to provide financial advice and recommendations to clients.
Prior to joining Pie in 2018, Simon worked at Westpac in Auckland as an Executive Financial Adviser.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland, a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies endorsed in Financial Planning from Massey University, the Certified Financial Planner designation through the Institute of Financial Advisers and is an Authorised Financial Adviser.
Simon is a shareholder of Pie Funds.
Steve Nichols Independent Non-Executive Director

Steve has extensive senior operational and strategic leadership experience in the financial services sector, working for 20 years from 1987 as a shareholder and director of MHG, specialists in the insurance broking industry. Steve was also a director and shareholder of UK based underwriting agency, InterGlobal until it was sold in 2007. He was directly involved in establishing InterGlobal’s business interests internationally in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Steve was appointed Chief Executive of Payments NZ Ltd in 2010, a company that is privately owned by New Zealand’s eight settlement banks. The company governs the rules and standards of New Zealand’s payment systems. Steve resigned from this role in 2014 to pursue commercial directorships and personal business interests.
Mark Devcich Chief Investment Officer & Portfolio Manager

Mark is Chief Investment Officer focusing on investment decisions and ensuring Pie’s investment strategy continues to be implemented successfully.
He is also the Co-Portfolio Manager with Chris Bainbridge for the Australasian Emerging Companies Fund, and Portfolio Manager of the JUNO KiwiSaver Growth Fund. Mark is also Portfolio Manager of the Global Growth Fund and Global Growth UK & Europe Fund, with research and analytics input from Guy Thornewill and Toby Woods.
Prior to joining Pie Funds in 2010, Mark worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in both the Financial Assurance and M&A taxation divisions.
Mark has a Commerce and Law degree from the University of Auckland, is a CFA charterholder and a qualified chartered accountant.

Chris Bainbridge Head of Australasian Equities and Portfolio Manager

Chris is responsible for researching and conducting detailed analysis of Australasian companies.
He is also the Portfolio Manager of the Australasian Growth 2 Fund, and Co-Portfolio Manager with Mark Devcich of the Australasian Emerging Companies Fund.
Prior to joining Pie in 2012, Chris worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London as a Lawyer in the Banking and Finance divisions.
Chris holds a Bachelors of Arts and Laws from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Ana-Marie Lockyer Independent Non-Executive Director

Ana brings over 20 years of broad banking and financial services experience from 10 years in the local and global Wealth team at ANZ Bank. At ANZ Ana had a number of strategic and executive roles across insurance and investments, including responsibility for New Zealand's largest KiwiSaver scheme. She also spent a further 10 years in commercial and product functions at Henderson Global Investors in London. Ana has also held governance roles for ANZ Samoa and the Financial Services Council and is currently General Manager of AA Finance.
Ana qualified as a Chartered Accountant and was admitted as a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is passionate about financial literacy, savings and retirements outcomes for New Zealanders and diversity in the financial services industry.
Roger Kerr Independent Non-Executive Director

Roger has had an extensive career in New Zealand’s financial and investment markets spanning four decades, including corporate treasury management consultancy with Bancorp, Asia-Pacific Risk Management and PwC. Roger’s previous governance roles include Board Chairman of Trust Investments Management, board member of the National Provident Fund and on the advisory board of the New Zealand Government Debt Management Office.
Roger is currently Executive Chairman of Barrington Treasury Services NZ Limited. Roger is also currently a Director of Financial Services Complaints Limited, ETOS Limited, Hedgebrook Limited, IE Financial Services Limited and Pakuranga Medical Centre Limited.
Andrew Fraser Chief Marketing Officer

Andrew is part of the leadership team and responsible for setting brand strategy and implementing it, including owner of ecommerce for the JUNO KiwiSaver Scheme.
He joined in Pie Funds at the start of 2020, bringing over 25 years’ experience as a senior digital marketing leader. Andrew has held senior marketing executive roles at Frucor Beverages through to large complex multinational environments at Kraft/Cadbury and Tourism New Zealand. Andrew has a proven track record in developing digital, data, market and product strategy, through brand and innovation programs, to deliver outstanding commercial results.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland.
Anna Sullivan Chief Operating Officer

Anna is the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for overseeing operations, regulatory, legal and governance at Pie Funds.
Prior to joining Pie, Anna was Chief Operating Officer for a listed boutique investment bank in London. She has also advised companies on strategic regulatory change, legal and business transformation matters. Anna also had 10 years in senior legal roles for Barclays in London and sub-Saharan Africa.
Anna originally qualified as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and re-qualified as a solicitor in England. She has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University and a Master of Science from Oxford University in the UK.
Anna is passionate about New Zealand businesses succeeding and achieving better financial outcomes for New Zealanders.

Prior to joining Pie as an Investment Analyst in 2015, Mike was a financial communications advisor to listed Australian companies on IPOs, M&A and other market engagement. Previously he was an editor for an investor news service owned by the Financial Times Group in Sydney and New York.
Mike holds a Master of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Arts and Media & Communications from the University of New South Wales.

Before joining Pie Funds in 2017, Stephanie worked at MediaWorks as a Digital Content Producer for NZ’s biggest multi-platform entertainment brand, The Edge radio station. She managed digital content and social strategy for announcer shows, client campaigns and events. Prior to that, she worked in PR.
She holds a Bachelor of Communications from Massey University, majoring in PR and Media.

Graham Ansell Advisor to the Investment Committee

Graham has had a long career in the New Zealand financial markets. He is a seasoned investment professional, passionate about investing and good outcomes for investors.
Graham’s career began at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in 1987 in the monetary policy implementation area, followed by four years managing the country’s fixed interest foreign reserves portfolios. In 1996 Graham took up the role of head of fixed interest for Armstrong Jones, which later became ING NZ and ultimately ANZ Investments. In 2012, Graham was appointed Chief Investment Officer of ANZ Investments, a position he held for six years until his departure in 2018.
Since 2018, Graham has taken on two roles with the Bank of New Zealand. One as an independent member of BNZ’s Investment Review Committee and the other as an independent director of BNZ Investment Services Limited. In late 2018, the Financial Markets Authority granted Graham a licence to operate as a Licenced Independent Trustee.

Prior to joining Pie, Rhys worked as the Senior Compliance Manager at Aon Insurance, and prior to that, the Legal and Compliance Manager at Vital Healthcare Property Trust.

Prior to joining Pie in 2020, Rhea worked as a Settlements and Operations specialist at XE Money Transfer.

Cecilia Robinson Independent Non-Executive Director

Cecilia brings broad brand, marketing and business strategy experience to the Board.
Cecilia is a serial entrepreneur founding Au Pair Link and My Food Bag with her husband, James.
Au Pair Link was sold to the Evolve Education group as part of the roll-up in 2014. When sold, Au Pair Link was one of the largest Au Pair companies in the world and one of the largest home-based early childhood education services in New Zealand.
In 2016, 70% of My Food Bag was sold to private equity group Waterman Capital. Since inception, My Food Bag has delivered over 60 million meals, become the 3rd largest food retailer in New Zealand and currently delivers 10,000 meals to charities across New Zealand per/month.
Cecilia has won the Westpac business awards and was subsequently named the Supreme Woman of Influence in the Westpac/Fairfax Women of Influence Awards 2017.
After serving as Co-CEO of My Food Bag for 6 years, alongside her husband James, the couple resigned in 2018 to focus on family, other business opportunities and philanthropic work. The Robinsons continue as Directors and shareholders of My Food Bag, and Cecilia is also a founding Trustee of the Princes Trust NZ. Cecilia has consulted to Pie Funds for the past 12 months with a focus on people management, marketing and business strategy.
Nikhil Ramrakhiani Head of Digital Solutions

Nikhil leads the technology department of Pie Funds and ensures overarching technology infrastructure closely aligns with Pie Funds' goals.
He utilizes technology to enhance products and services that focus on external customers as well as drive internal efficiency.
As we continue to grow and execute on our longer-term vision, Nikhil will be overseeing all of our development efforts as well as contributing to the overall roadmap.
Prior to joining Pie Funds in 2018, Nikhil worked as a Hands-on Development Manager at Mobile Mentor. Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Science.
Phillip Quinlan Technical Lead

Phill aids Pie Funds with digital analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of support and complex technological solutions.
Prior to joining Pie Funds in 2019, Phill worked at NetPotential as Senior Web Developer for 11 years working on a wide variety of digital solutions.
He holds a Bachelor of Computer and Information Science, majoring in Software Development from AUT.
Jaime Callá Graphic Designer

Jaime is responsible for designing communications content, event material and branding.
Prior to joining Pie Funds in 2019, Jaime worked as a senior designer in charge of designing and producing visual artwork for a wide variety of clients.
He has also gained valuable overseas experience working as a freelance art director and designer for several international brands across Latin America, US and Europe.
Jaime has extensive experience in building corporate brand identities and in the creation of advertising campaigns. Jaime holds a Bachelor of Design from the National University of Buenos Aires.
