What you need to do
When the new portal goes live, you’ll receive an email from Pie Funds titled ‘Activate Your Pie Funds Online Investor Portal’. This will contain a link to activate your account where you’ll be asked to enter your email address and create a secure password. And that’s it! Then you’ll be able to enjoy the new and improved experience!
In the meantime, we’ve thought about some questions you might have:
- When will I have access to the new portal?
We’re on track to provide you with access on 6 June 2019.
- What do I need to do when the new portal is launched?
When the new portal goes live, you’ll receive an email from Pie Funds titled ‘Activate Your Pie Funds Online Investor Portal’. - What if I have problems setting up my login details?
Our team will be on hand during business hours to help you through the process if you get stuck. You can either email us at [email protected], or call our office on 09 486 1701 (Auckland) or 06 600 1701 (Hawke’s Bay).
- Will I be able to use the old portal?
I’m afraid not. Moving forward the old portal will not be updated, and access will be switched off when the new portal goes live. We know that sometimes change can be a bother but rest assured, once you are using the new portal you will see the benefits. Also, we love feedback, so if there are things you loved about the old portal, or features you’d like to see, please let us know.
- Is it still best to access the new portal via the Pie Funds website?
Yes, it is. On our home page click ‘Login’ to access the new portal. For easy access in the future we suggest you save www.piefunds.co.nz to your favourites.
- How long do I have to activate my account?
The link within the email titled ‘Activate Your Pie Funds Online Investor Portal’ will remain valid for 30 days. If you don’t get around to activating your account within the 30 days, don’t worry, please let us know and we can help set your password.
- MMC Ltd will be our custodian and fund administrator from 31 May 2019. Who are MMC Ltd and what do they do?
MMC are a specialist New Zealand based fund and investment administration business (www.mmcnz.co.nz). From 31 May 2019, MMC will become the custodian of our funds’ assets and undertake certain administrative functions of the funds. These will include investment accounting services such as unit pricing and asset valuation, and registry services. Further details of these roles can be found in our Disclosure Documents on our website. MMC is also the custodian and fund administrator for our JUNO KiwiSaver Scheme.
- As Pie Funds transitions to MMC Ltd and the new portal will be launched, will it be business as usual?
The Client Services team will still be on hand to answer any questions you have and the Investment Team will continue to actively manage the Funds.
New deposits and transactions: You’re welcome to deposit further funds at any time however there will be a processing delay for 4 days beginning 29 May 2019 as we undertake the final transition.
Unit prices: A unit price for each fund will be calculated and reported as at 27 May 2019. The next available unit price will be calculated as at 4 June 2019. This ‘blackout’ period is required to complete the migration to MMC Ltd.
- Do I still pay into the same bank account when I want to add to my investment?
Yes, our Trust bank account number will remain the same which means any deposits you make will be received and applied to your chosen fund. We will however be amending the name of this account on 31 May to reflect the move to MMC. Please contact one of the team before making your payment if you have any concerns.
- What if I have more than one investment account, will I need a separate login for each account?
No, you won’t. You can see all investment accounts which you are entitled to view under the same login providing the registered email address for all the accounts is the same. Please contact us if you wish to make any changes to your contact details.
- Will I be able to view historic data and performance returns?
The new portal will include your investment history with Pie Funds and incorporate the ability to view your current and total performance by fund or as a portfolio. There are also many other features, for example when viewing your investments you will be able to toggle between dollars and percentages depending on preference, and key information such as unit price history, investment mix and performance will be displayed graphically. The exciting thing is, we will be making further enhancements and adding more features in the future!
- If you are sending less letters, how will I receive confirmation of transactions, distributions or my year end tax statements?
You can view all account transactions, including distributions, by logging into the investor portal, and by popular demand, you will even be able to download and print future year end tax statements from the Documents section (note tax statements will be available for the year ending March 2020 and onwards). We will notify you by email to let you know when a transaction has taken place or when your year end tax statement is available. Or, as always, the team is on hand to provide any information you require.
- Will you still send me paper copies of transactions as well?
As part of our commitment to creating a healthier planet for future generations we will not be sending paper copies as well. However, get in touch if you have circumstances which require you to be sent information by post and we will happily accommodate you.
- Are there any additional costs or fees for the new portal?
No, Pie Funds pays all operating costs, including those associated with the investor portal, out of the management fee. More information on fees can be found in our Disclosure Documents on our website.
